Character Design

This character is based on the main character of Doan Truong Tan Thanh, an epic poem written by the famous poet Nguyen Du (1766-1820) in 19^th Century. The oeuvre, well known as Kieu Story, was written in the sin-eight-word distich meter, widely regarded as the most significant work of Vietnamese literature. The poem recounts the life, trials and tribulations of Thuy Kieu, a beautiful and talented young woman, who had to sacrifice herself to save her family.

Now, I try to reconstruct the story in the 21^st Century time, with modern fashion style and education system, but still want to keep the basic events, conflicts and relationships among the characters.
